Não é um Vespeiro, mas é um show gravado em 15/5/2008 entre os livros do Sebo baratos. Uma banda de Nova Iorque, 5 caras - nenhum deles nova-iorquinos. De passagem pelo Rio de Janeiro, para pegar um bronzeado, tomar umas e outras e, se calhar, plugar as guitarras e fazer barulho. Dos bons. Melodias maneiríssimas, letras irônicas, riffs percussivos que remetem ao garage e ao pós punk, mas com as pontas tão amarradas quanto todo bom pop deve ser. Algo entre o R.E.M. e o Fugazi, talvez. Greg Campbell (do Maine) e Declan Collins (irlandês) cantam e tocam guitarra, o baixista do Willrob tá uma força e o baterista Pitti (carioca até uns anos atrás) supervisiona (já que não havia bateria). No fim, um cover de Talking Heads, sem ensaio prévio, sem firulas e, apesar de toda a tosqueira, delicioso! 30 min.

A banda conta ainda com Dan Mitchell (guitarra, baixo e nos backing vocals) e acaba de lançar o ótimo single “Hot Shot”, escrito após um amigo da galera ter morrido de uma overdose de heroína.

“Although the members of Maybe the Welders were born and raised in places as far and different as Brazil, Ireland and New England, they are a quintessential New York rock band with a sound and aesthetic that can be seen as the next chapter in the great history of music from NYC.

Founded by Pitti on drums and Dan Mitchell on guitar and bass, the band is fronted by songwriters and lead vocalists Greg Campbell and Declan Collins.
